Post office Aadhaar enrolment/ update facility is now available in more than 6,500 post offices. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has recently shared that very soon there will be over 13,000 post office Aadhaar card centers. According to the UIDAI, authorized post offices and banks are seeing more than 70,000 Aadhar enrolment/updates every day.

To set up and operation of Aadhaar registration in Post Office, the Govt. has allotted Rs. 200 crores. And, this facility will be available in 13,466 post offices throughout the country. Also, to make the local crowd aware of this Post Office Aadhaar card facility, the government has asked the Department of Post to associate with local MLAs whenever they are opening a new Aadhaar center.

How to Locate the Aadhaar Card Enrolment Centre Near You?

The UIDAI has updated the list of Aadhaar Card Enrolment centers on its official website. Therefore, it has become very easy to locate the Aadhaar card enrolment center in Post Office and banks near you. Below are some simple steps to find your nearest Aadhaar enrolment center.
  • First of all, visit the UIDAI official website and click on Locate Enrolment & Update Centers
  • There are 3 options through which you can locate an Aadhaar card center
  • You can choose through the state, pin code or search box
  • If you choose to search through State:
  • Select the state from the drop-down list
  • Select your district in which you are currently residing
  • You can also choose the Sub District and Village Town City to narrow down your search
  • In case you want the list of only permanent Aadhaar centers, then tick the square box
  • Finally, type in the verification code for security purpose and click on the Search button

To search through the Pin Code or Search Box, you need to type your area pin code or your search query in the box. After that enter the Verification Code and click on the search button.

Aadhaar enrolment in Post Office id completely free. The charge for aadhaar card correction or updation is Rs. 29.50 (inclusive of taxes).

Yes, you can visit your nearest Aadhaar enrolment center in post office to do that.

What are the required documents for change in name and address in Aadhaar?
The UADAI accepts 18 documents as Proof of Identity (PoI) and 35 documents as Proof of Address (PoA). You can provide anyone PoI and one PoA for changing these details. Here is the list of valid documents for Aadhaar.

My Aadhaar card was made from a different state. Can I update it at my nearby post office Aadhaar enrolment center?  
Yes, you can update Aadhaar card details from anywhere in India. Just make sure to carry the valid documents as mentioned above.

Is Aadhar enrolment for child possible in Post Office? Yes. There is no minimum or maximum age limit for the Aadhar card. So you can even enroll your newborn child for Aadhaar in the post office.
